Call for Wardens

We would like to recruit some more wardens to help out down at Farlington Marshes. We would like to promote the site and and enthuse people about what a great place the marshes is.

If you like Farlington and would like to get involved please email me

Christopher.Lycett@hiwwt.org.uk

No experience of birding, wardening or anything else is required, just some enthusiasm and willing to interact with members of the public.

The main duties of the role will be:

  • Patrolling the site, dealing with or reporting any incidents or issues to staff members.
  • Providing a friendly point of contact for members of the public who may have questions about the site.
  • Relay information and updates about the site from staff members to the public.
  • Keep an eye on the Livestock whilst present.

There are currently no strict time constraints on when you do the wardening but this is an evolving role which we hope to develop in the future to become a bit more structured so as the site has a volunteer member available during the core times.

So if you have a little bit of free time, as little as one day a month or as much as one day a week and would like to get involved please get in touch.
