Today was the south east teams last day of the year before the well deserved Christmas break. To mark the occasion we had a sociable day walking around Roydon Woods, nestled in the heart of the New Forest. It was a lovely walk through the semi ancient woodland and lowland heath. Along the way we saw 3 butterflies enjoying the sun; two Red Admirals and a Peacock. We also saw a pair of Stonechat and a Buzzard. We hoped to see Crossbill or maybe even a Hawfinch but unfortunately we left empty handed.
All that it leaves me to say is have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thank you for following our goings on in 2014.
