Spring Arrivals

While the volunteers were checking and repairing fences, due to the imminent arrival of livestock, we saw our first swallows of the spring. There were plenty of, typically noisy, Mediterranean gulls overhead, as well as a pair of peregrines. The first orange-tip butterfly of the year was also spotted, but best of the day was perhaps the very smart male redstart that was around the bushes.
