Kingfishers, Lecterns and Sunshine

Dawn and I walked around a sparkling, sunny Swanwick Lakes this morning to check the trees and footpaths after last night’s storm. We didn’t spot too many problems and we had a fantastic view of a Kingfisher on Tom’s Lake. We are also having five new interpretation lecterns installed around the reserve. The lecterns are the result of several months of hard work by lots of people and they are looking really good.

This one tells the story of the reserve’s industrial past. The fifth lectern should be in place by the end of the day, so why not come down to Swanwick Lakes and have a look. I only wish I could promise more sunny days!
